District Battle of the Books

Submitted by allison.mower on

Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students.  The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun while competing with peers. Last week our students completed in Battle of the Books at the school level.  Today the VVMS top team competed against the other middle schools in the district.  All of the teams did an amazing job, and the Book Brothers took home the 1st place trophy!  We are so proud of Adam Walters, Isaac Johnson, Caleb Kesler, Logan Young, and Jacob Millar for all of their hard work.  W

Do you remember when reading was fun? The 40 Book Challenge is designed to put the joy back into independent reading. It is a vetted program based on The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller. We all know that reading touches every aspect of learning and the more we intentionally practice this discipline, the more successful we will be in all areas of life. Reading is EVERYWHERE!
